If I find a pen laying on a table and there is something to write on, you better believe I'm going to be drawing on it. I mean all over it. Every square inch! Hide your paper is all I'm saying.
As a child I was the doodle master. I couldn't stop myself from creating new worlds on the corners of my homework pages. To be honest, that did not bode well for my grades, but come to think of it now... did a permanent record matter?
My parents supported my creativity. That was the most important gift they have ever given me. (Note to parents with kids that show sparks of creativity, don't smother it. Not everyone has it). My parents saw who I was, and they let me grow into who I have become. Thank you mom and dad for all of your support. Don't get it twisted though, they supported my passions, but by high school they said "Be creative, but get a job!".
My professional career started after high school as a caricature artist at the Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. After working with some amazingly talented artists for five years, I learned the skills it took to take this show on the road. After graduating college, my true adventure began. I became the owner and operator of a caricature stand at the Indiana Beach Amusement Resort in Monticello, Indiana. I then worked with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines drawing all over the world. I spent a few years working as an independent graphic designer, but it wasn't as fulfilling as I would have hoped. A few years later, I found myself drawing cartoons and caricatures again! It is my true passion.
Today my wife Sara and I live in Dayton, Ohio. I am currently working with some of my best friends who happen to be caricature artists with similar backgrounds to myself. A rag tag group of salty old cartoon pirates. I am currently freelancing my illustrations online, and working as a caricature artist with Over The Line Productions out of Cincinnati, Ohio.
With all the adventures I have been on, many people imagine that I would have burned out by now. I still love to draw caricatures. I have made lasting relationships with clients and customers, but I'm always ready to create something new. Recently I've started promoting my personal artwork online. I have opened an Etsy Store to sell my artwork directly to customers. I am currently freelancing my illustrations during my days away from the corporate events and festivals. Please feel free to contact me or connect on social media if you would like me to create something fun for you.
I offer a range of services, including original commissioned pieces, hand drawn caricatures, and custom cartoon illustrations. My prices vary based on time and detail. I create both traditional and digital media. Contact me to discuss your project or idea.
